மே தினத்தில் நினைவுக்கு வரும் ஒற்றைச் சொல் “ஒற்றுமை”, மேதினத்தில் அரிதாகவே தொடர்புடைய சொல் “சுதந்திரம்”

-அனைத்துலக ஈழத்தமிழர் மக்களவை-

மே தினத்தன்று, காலை முதல் மாலை வரை முதலாளித்துவ வர்க்கத்திற்காக உழைக்கும் தொழிலாளர்களை நோக்கியும், அவர்களின் நலன்களைப் பாதுகாக்க அவர்களால் உருவாக்கப்பட்ட தொழிற்சங்கங்களை நோக்கியும் நமது சிந்தனைகள் செலுத்தப்படுகின்றன. மே தினத்தன்று நினைவுக்கு வரும் ஒரே வார்த்தை ‘ஒற்றுமை.’

இருப்பினும், மே தினம் அரிதாகவே மற்றொரு முக்கியமான வார்த்தையுடன் தொடர்புடையது: சுதந்திரம், உலகின் பல நாடுகளில் ஒடுக்கப்பட்ட மக்களின் “சுதந்திரம்”.

இலங்கையில், சுதந்திரம் குறித்த எமது பெரும்பாலான கலந்துரையாடல்கள் பெரும்பான்மை சமூகத்தினாலும் அரச இயந்திரத்தினாலும் நசுக்கப்படுகின்றன. தொடர்ந்து இனப்படுகொலையை எதிர்கொண்டு வரும் ஈழத்தமிழர்கள், இலங்கை அரசின் அடக்குமுறையையும், இனவெறி அரசால் தமிழர்கள் மீதான ஆபத்தான, திட்டமிட்ட இனப்படுகொலையையும் தங்கள் மே தினச் செய்தியின் மூலம் சர்வதேச சமூகத்திற்குத் தெரியப்படுத்துகின்றனர். தொழிலாளர்களின் ஒற்றுமையை மட்டுமல்ல ஒடுக்கப்பட்ட மக்களின் ஒற்றுமையையும் மே தினம் பிரதிபலிக்கிறது. தாங்கள் அடையப் போராடிக் கொண்டிருக்கும் நித்திய, அமைதியான வாழ்வை நிறைவேற்ற விடுதலையை எதிர்பார்க்கும் ஒடுக்கப்பட்ட தமிழர்களின் நாளாக இது இருக்கட்டும்.

இலங்கைத் தீவில் உள்ள தமிழர்களை ஒடுக்கவும், அழிக்கவும் இலங்கை அரசு கடுமையான பயங்கரவாத எதிர்ப்புச் சட்டங்களையும், ராணுவ அடக்குமுறைகளையும் கொண்டு வந்துள்ளது. உரிமை மறுப்பால் ஈழத்தமிழர்களின் விடுதலைப் போராட்டத்தை தடுத்து நிறுத்த முடியாது. சிங்கள ஒடுக்குமுறையாளர்களை எமது தாயகத்திலிருந்து விரட்டி எமது மக்களுக்கு அமைதியையும் பாதுகாப்பையும் கொண்டு வர உலகத் தமிழர்கள் உதவ வேண்டும்.

தமிழர்களுக்குச் சொந்தமான காணிகளை அபகரித்து, தமிழர்களின் பூர்வீக நிலங்களில் சிங்களவர்களை குடியேற்றுவதன் மூலமும் தமிழ் மக்களை அழிப்பதன் மூலமும் சிங்களமயமாக்கல் திட்டம் முன்னெடுக்கப்படுகிறது. தமிழ் மக்களின் பாரம்பரிய மரபுரிமை மையங்களையும் புராதன இந்து ஆலயங்களையும் இடித்துவிட்டு அதற்குப் பதிலாக பௌத்த விகாரைகளை அமைப்பதன் மூலம் தமிழ் மக்களின் பாரம்பரிய வரலாற்றை சிதைத்து வருகிறது.

உலகத் தொழிலாளர்களின் வெற்றியை நினைவுகூரும் இந்த மே தினத்தில் ஈழத்தமிழர் விடுதலைக்காகப் பாடுபடும் அனைத்து அமைப்புகளும் ஒன்றிணைந்து எதிரிகளை தாயகத்திலிருந்து விரட்டியடித்து, சுதந்திரத்துடனும், அமைதியுடனும் வாழ அயராது பாடுபடுவோம்.

Let us unite in solidarity with Tamil workers facing genocide attain their freedom – International Council of Eelam Tamils-

On May Day, our thoughts are directed at the workers who work for the bourgeoisie from early morning to dusk and to the trade unions formed by them to protect their interests. The only word that comes to mind on May Day is “Solidarity.”

However, May Day is rarely associated with another important word: Freedom, the ‘freedom’ of oppressed people in many countries of the world. In Sri Lanka, most of our discussions on freedom are being suppressed by the majority community and the state apparatus. The Eelam Tamils, continually facing genocide, inform the international community through their May Day message, about the Sri Lanka Government’s repression and the dangerous and calculated genocide of the Tamils by a racist state. May Day reflects not only the unity of the workers but also the oppressed people. Let it be the day of the oppressed Tamils that expect the freedom to fulfill the eternal and peaceful life they have been struggling to attain.

The Government of Sri Lanka has brought draconian antiterrorism laws and military repression to suppress and exterminate the Tamils on the island. Denial of rights cannot stop the freedom struggle of the Eelam Tamils. The Tamils worldwide must help drive the Sinhala oppressors out of our homeland and bring peace and security to our people.

The Sinhalization project is being carried out by expropriating Tamil-owned lands and colonizing them with Sinhalese people in the native lands of the Tamils thereby destroying the Tamil population. It is also distorting the traditional history of the Tamil people by demolishing the Tamil heritage centers and ancient Hindu temples of the Tamil people and replacing them with Buddhist viharas. On this May Day, commemorating the victory of the world’s workers, let all the organizations working for the liberation of Eelam Tamils come together and work tirelessly to drive the enemy out of our homeland and usher a life of freedom and peace.
